Tourism in Aragon Spain

Aragon crossed by Ebre, is located at the North-East of Spain and extends from the French border marked by the Pyrenees in Castilla Mancha and the autonomous Community of Valence in the south. Saragossa is the regional and province capital, Teruel and Husca are the capitals of the two other provinces.

Climate in Aragon: According to the various areas the climate strongly varies. North knows very cold winters and very hot summers whereas the south has a Mediterranean and wetter climate.
Saragossa

Saragossa, is a town of art and culture. On the spot, the tourist can inter alia appreciate the basilica of Pilar marked by the work of Goya. In the same spirit in Saragossa, the visitor can go to the theater, to attend concerts and regional festivals as the festivals of Sprin between May and June or Pilar. Finally the bullfights of Saragossa proceed in October and mark the end of the bull-fighting season. Saragossa lives also in the night and its many bars, discotheques and pubs offer to the tourist an animated night life. Saragossa has been the place of the 2008 International exhibition with "Water and sustainable development" as topic. In this spirit Èbre, now has navigable section in order to become the main street of the city.
Winter sports in Aragon

The mountainous relief of Aragon allowed development of quality ski stations : The province of Hesca counts 6 famous winter sports resorts and the province of Teruel 2 stations close to Valence.

  • Astún: the Astun ski station has a 39,200 km skiable field with a 1,658m minimal altitude and a 2,300m maximal one.
  • Candanchú Somport:: the Candanchu Somport ski station has a 35 km field for ski touring with a 1,590m minimal altitude and a 1,688m maximum one.
  • Cerler: the Cerler ski station has a 65 km skiable field with a 1,500m minimal altitude and a 2,630m maximum one.
  • Formigal: the Formigal ski station has 130 km a skiable field for Alpine skiing with 1,510m a minimal altitude and 2,200m maximum one.
  • Llanos del Hospital: the Llanos del Hospital ski station has a 25 km skiable field with a minimal altitude of 1,785m. and a maximum altitude of 1,940m.
  • Panticosa: Los Lagos the ski station of Panticosa has a 35 km ski touring skiable field with a minimal altitude1,590m and a maximum one of 1,688m.
  • Javalambre: The Javalambre ski station has a 6.5 km skiable field with a 1,775m minimal altitude and a 2,000 maximum one.
  • Valdelinares: the Valdelinares ski station has a 7.5 km skiable field for Alpine skiing and ski touring with a minimal altitude of 1,700m and a maximum altitude of 2,024m.

Natural parks:

The amateurs of country holidays and natural spaces will appreciate the many possibilities of excursions in the Parque Nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido, the Parque Natural de la Sierra y Cañones de Guara et the Parque Natural de la Dehesa del Moncayo.
